Asking Price: $3800 for 185,000 mile Toyota Avalon

Details:

  • No visible rust, just surface
  • Original Alternator/Starter
  • Oil/ATF - Clean
  • Suspension, Tie Rod, and Control Arms look clean. Not even surface-rust

6 Years of Service Logs, but they're not the best

- Regular oil changes, at most once a year and not every 5000 miles as Scotty recommends.

- Coolant & Radiator was changed 3 years ago

- ATF changed 3 years ago

Observed Issues:

- Squeeky Timing belt, not replaced. Instead it was just tightened 😐

- Rear sway bar bushings noisy, with play - not changed

- Steering was reported as off center - Didn't opt for further investigation or wheel alignment 🙁

- Low coolant reservoir

History of Ownership:

- Driven in Colorado for about 14 years, but no signs of salt/rust on the bottom.

2 Owners. Related by family.

Maintenance

As Scotty & AMD (Car Care Nut) recommend, I'm getting a pre-purchase inspection before purchasing the car. I think it'll pass the inspection.

Wanted to know what the community thought and whether the vehicle was worth it. It does look like a gem.

Too much asking price, try to get it lowered.

Those were my thoughts as well.

What would be a good price range to go at? $2000-2500 or $2500-3000
