Hey Scotty,
I drive a 2016 Rav 4 hybrid and I have about 111,000mi on it. Watched one of your videos recently that said the CVT trans fluid should be changed every 30-40k miles and have heard you warn in the past about changing fluid in transmissions on cars with high mileage when it hasn’t been done regularly before. Do you think I should have the fluid replaced? I’d really like to see my Rav get to 200k without any major issues if I can.
I would change it. Hondas and Toyotas generally don't shed clutch material like American cars do. You should be ok doing a drain and fill. Just don't flush it.
Yes, do a drain and re-fill (don't flush it). And then keep up with it regularly between 30-40k afterwards. Scott's said countless times, no such thing as lifetime transmission fluids.
