Should I change my ATF and filter in my 94 Ford Ranger with a hundred fifty thousand miles. It shifts a little rough but always has. fluid is medium dirty

I would leave it alone at this age, condition and mileage.

Just do a drain, pan drop to replace the filter, and refill with the amount of ATF that came out. To maybe aid with the rough shifting, you can add some of that Lucas oils automatic transmission additive too.
