Below is the link to the Mustang I want to look at. I know its not a V8 but I can afford the V6. I dont like the wheels but aside from that and assuming underneath isnt all rust. Is $6000 a good price?
No
Any specific reason you say no?
Mainly because it's overpriced in my opinion
Just by the look, I can tell the type of person (people) that owned it before. The tires on it are cheap low quality Korean tires. And I'm pretty sure they had put that car through fun rough driving. It says the price has dropped $500. Why? You only see dealers raising prices nowadays.
Looks reasonably straight. If that's what you really want, it might be OK. However, the '06 was not a good year for the Mustang, and getting close to 20 years old and over 150,000 miles it is guaranteed to have problems.
Any time you buy a used car, you always have to ask yourself, "Why is the previous owner getting rid of it?" - not why he/she says they are getting rid of it, but the real reason. Often, it's because it has a problem that will require an expensive repair.
So before you buy it, this one absolutely needs a prepurchase inspection from an experienced mechanic. Find out what the problems are and figure out how much $ you will need to fix everything. And keep some $ in reserve, because there will likely be some repairs come up in the near future that you better budget for.
Thank for your responses. I'll just keep learning/working on the car I already have. Much cheaper anyways.
