Should i keep my civic or buy a new car?

Good day to you all. I have a 2008 Civic Ex with about 148k miles. This car drives amazing, but recently, I have come across a big problem. As some of you may know, some of the earlier 8th gen civics have the notorious cracked engine block issue. To my dismay, I had learned that my engine block has also cracked. Just to make a long story short, I made sure it wasn't anything else before I came to this conclusion, because I had just paid the car off and I didn't want to spend more than I already have. Now, I could either get a used engine for about 800-1k and get it swapped (my uncle and I would swap it ourselves, or just get a new car altogether. To some of you, the answer may be simple, but I really don't want to go through this same issue again, so I'm really on the fence. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your time.

If you install a used engine you're likely to wind up with the same problem.

@chucktobias That is exactly what I have thought. There is no guarantee that the engine I'll put in won't crack. Maybe I should just JB Weld the crack and use it as a trade-in for the new car.

Here's a video of doing the J.B. Weld "repair". A comment says to drain all coolant out of the engine, which makes sense. I have no idea how long this patch would last.

@chucktobias thanks for the video! I'll make sure to do this and trade it in, If i do make the choice to trade in the car. Do you have any car recommendations? preferably sedans and max year 2015

The general recommendation would be for a Toyota or Honda, avoiding models (like yours) that have known problems.
