My wife totalled my 2012 Jeep Liberty. It was the other guys fault and he had no license or insurance. He also lied to our faces about having insurance and why his license was taken away. But our insurance company took his side which was disgusting. They also want me to make a decision before they give me the numbers. (Progressive). It has only 113,000 miles and is in great shape. The estimate from insurance was about 9 grand to fix it but I got an estimate for $5,800 from someone else. Should I fix it or at least get it street legal?
Sorry to hear that. Progressive is very good… at not paying for things.
A 10 year old Liberty is probably not the best car to drop a lot of money into. I’d probably take whatever payment you can get and look for a replacement.
IMO, insurance as a concept is basically legalized extortion.
