[Solved] Should I replace my catalytic converter

FIRST DAYS DRVING feel lost 40% power in city 50mph. and highway 60mph up lost 50%

AFTER 5 DAYS DRIVING      LITTLE IT BETTER  CAN GO TO 75mph。  but cant keep in 2200 rmp   in cruise control

it automatic  constanly go to 3000 rmp or even higher 4000 rpm to keep the 75mph speed

 new air fiter . no engine light on. no misfire change oil on time every5000 miles spark plug changed couple days ago.

 tranny fluid every 50k miles.

JUST BRING TO SHOP TODAY         MECHINAL  DRIVE IT       SAID    CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS CLOGGED.   

 

so do  I NEED TO CHANGE FRONT ONE OR BOTH    FRONT OR BACK    

 OR GIVE IT A TRY  LACQUER THINNER           OR USE SHELL  GAS   REGULAR  OR SHELL SUPER FOR COUPLE  MONTH  WILL IT HELP.

The clogged ones. That was his job to tell you.

No. You cannot unclog a cat with fuel additives.

tried not working laquer thinner


change both catalytic converter or just top one first exhaust manifold converter


the clogged one. Use a backpressure tester.


fixed problem 300$ labor front exhaust manifold catalytic converter change. didnt changed botton one . like a new car now when take off thx

First, get a second opinion.

If the cat is cligged up and the mileage is legit, there is something wrong with the engine. You should fix it first then think about changing the cat, otherwise, it will ruin the new cat again. 


yes thx burn 500ml every 1000 miles. i changed oil ontime every 5000 miles


It worth a shot to change the PCV valve and run some engine oil cleaner. If you are lucky, you may have a stuck piston rings.

Using lacquer thinner in your fuel can destroy your fuel system.  I hope putting on a new CAT helps but you have to find out what upstream caused the CAT to fail. otherwise, your new and very expensive CAT will soon fail again, like @yaser said.
