Hi Scotty,
Greetings from New Zealand.
We are looking at a Toyota Minivan (Mark X Zio - JDM cars are very popular here).
It's a 2011 with 2 AZ-FE engine and K112 CVT Transmission and only has
31000 kilometers on it. The engine doesn't burn any oil.
Will the CVT be a reliable option? I am well aware of 2 AZ-FE engine oil consumption;
but I did still prefer it over any Nissan product.
Thanks
Tanmay
Well back then they never sold those CVT van trannies and the US so I don't have any experience with that particular model
The K112 does not have a positive reputation.
Toyota doesn’t have an “2AF-FE” engine (as written in the title), googling a bit those had a “2AZ-FE” and that’s a pass!
HORRID oil burners, and earlier model years (if I remember correctly that would include early mark x variants) had head gasket / head bolt issues.
But the V6 variant does seem to be mechanically solid.
