2009 Subaru legacy limited.
A pebble got stuck between my heat shield and brake rotor and caused an annoying grinding/squeaking noice. I removed the pebble but it grinded a clean circle on the inside of the rotor but the damage isn't in the path of brake pads.
So if the damage isn't the the path of the brake pads, should I worry about replacing the rotor?

Do you have a photo?
You're probably talking about a shallow surface scratch, not a deep groove right? If so I wouldn't worry about it.
