Should I replace the belt tensioner during a timing belt change?

98 4Runner Ltd 4WD 185,000 miles. When I’m changing the timing belt should the belt tensioner also be changed?

I certainly would change it considering the mileage.

Belt, tensioner and water pump to. Make sure you keep your timing marks lined up. There is a procedure to get the motor in position before you take the old belt off. Plenty of videos out there to tell you how. Usually any timing belt you buy comes with instructions on how to get your marks in position and keep them aligned.
