You may not need to warm up a modern engine. But I do remember Scotty once saying to let your engine idle 15 seconds before you put it in gear when you start it up in the mornings. That way the engine is thoroughly lubricated before you drive off.

You may not need to but I would still wait a good 10-15 seconds.

In India? I wouldn’t bother! How hot is it out there most of the time, 32 deg. C ? [ … and that makes a pretty darn warm engine, even if it was down for, … say, 24 hrs. ]

You can drive it off after your start it.  To make your engine last longer just be sure the engine is at operating temperature before you drive like a maniac.

I am fairly certain that car manufacturers have office buildings full of engineers trying to figure out how to make your car self destruct the day after the warranty runs out.  I always let my vehicles achieve operating temperature before driving them.  Big rig drivers, whose trucks regularly go over a million miles let their rigs warm up for at least 15 minutes before putting any load on them.  You'll get a lot of opinions on this subject so read them all, do your research and decide for yourself.
