I have a 2018 Toyota Yaris L with little over 20,000 miles and is automatic, it didn’t come with the a mirror control switch so I bought the part and connected it but pressing the buttons doesn’t do anything. I suspect it’s a wiring problem but I’m not sure what else it could be. Dealership is a big no no. Suggestions as to where I can get this checked?
If it didn't come with a mirror control switch that implies it did not come with the motivators for the mirrors either, even if the wiring for the switch is in place. (Manufacturers frequently use the same wiring harness whether particular options are installed or not.)
Pretty much what @Chuck Tobias said. And if by some strange coincidence the actuators are there, the BCM would need to be re-programmed to make that work. But likely there are no actuators so the switch won't work.
