My 2008 Toyota Sienna Van with the 2G-FR V6 has 153000 miles and when cold it makes a ticking sound, seems to go away after 1/2 mile or so and runs great. No codes are showing and like I said runs just fine other than the ticking when cold. Cold is a relative term as I live in SoCal and we sometimes get down to the 30's but most of the time low 40's are the norm. And all maintenance has been done, regular oil and filter changes etc.

Well often that can be the variable valve timing. They will often tick as they age. But you can try my friend Bernie's oil flush. He runs a company in Albuquerque, New Mexico called ATS. You can just Google ATS engine flush. Then do the process and then change the oil. Sometimes that will clean them up and they'll stop making that noise. Otherwise you generally have to take the engine apart which is very expensive
