Hey Scotty,
my local used car lot has two trucks I’m really stuck on, a 2016 Silverado 1500 king cab with the 5.3L V8 or a 2016 Colorado Crew cab with the 3.6L V6. Both have similar mileage and the asking price for both is similar as well. While the Colorado is the fancier Ltz model, the Silverado does pack more power. Which is the better option, or is this just more of a preference? Or should I stay away from the dreaded GM vechiles :/
Stay away from both, esp. if you plan to keep for a long time and intend to put high mileage well past 100,000 miles. GM quality has really declined over the years including their trucks.
Scotty has made it clear that the older (15 years and more) GMCs and Chevy trucks are substantially better constructed than the newer ones. I have no reason to doubt him. Perhaps just shift your focus to that cohort of vehicles, if you value Scotty's advice.
Neither, stay away from newer GM trucks, especially the 1500s.
Silverado or Colorado? That's your only choice? I wouldn't throw either one of them over the back of a horse.
