Hey Scotty,
should I buy a 2000 Chevy Silverado 5.3 vortec with 148k miles for 4,000? Original owner, minor cosmetic repairs needed - runs and drives great.

the price seems high.
Do a very thorough visual inspection, paying close attention to rust. Let someone mechanically inclined hoist it up and look over the critical stuff.... brakes, wheels, suspension, driveline etc.
