Hey so i just baught a used 2007 scion tc with 155k manual trans for 5k including all the taxes, from mountain motors of newnan (located in georgia), back in January. I had a mechanic come out to do a Pre purchase inspection (carproinspectors of atlanta) before i bought the car. He said on the inspection it was perfect just needed a valve cover gasket, and one of the coolant hoses was loose. I bought the car, drove it home 45 miles. Then tried to go to work the next morning when it started to over heat. I quickly turned the car off and had it towed home.

A friend of mine who is a desil mechanic came and looked at the car and told me that this same dealership got over on one of his friends and one of his family members and told me the car had a cracked head gasket that had been sealed with those liquid head gasket sealers. There was copper things all in the coolant. Anyways i had it towed to a mechanic and noone around me will do head gaskets anymore except for one place who is trying to charge 4k. The place i had it towed too said they can get me an engine replacement and charge me 1,500 for labor, and found a reman engine for 3k.(ps have had 3 mechanics look at it since i bought it to do to the fact that the first one screwed up so badly i didnt want to get taken)

Do you have any websites that you would recommended to get a used engine?

And what is your opinion on reman engines? Id much rather stick to a toyota engine but i need help trying to locate one for a good price.

Also what do you think of blue devil head gasket sealer,? i got it recommended by a mechanic.

(I know its a long story but i really need your help, i love your videos. )

Sorry to hear this but not surprised.  Try a reman engine from Powertrain Products with a 5 year warranty, or ATK or Jasper.

Sounds like carproinspectors of atlanta did a very very poor job on the inspection. I would be cracking there corns over this. Not like it blew 3 months later. Also the dealer should have given you at least a 30 day warranty, or was it "as is"?
