I have a 2022 Toyota Corolla Hatchback that is two months old. I recently noticed at the bottom of the passenger side mirror where the two plastic pieces join together where it attaches to the body of the car, that one side of the plastic is starting to pull out and bend upwards causing separation between the two pieces. After having two different Toyota dealerships look at it, and with consultation by them with Toyota Southeast Distributors (I'm in Florida), they say the damage was done by the sun due to "solar convergence of reflected light/heat from modern windows that are designed to prevent excessive heat transfer to the inside of the building." As such, it's not covered under warranty. Nor is it covered by my full coverage insurance as damage caused by the sun is considered "wear and tear" and is not claimable. I have no idea what building I've parked by that caused this, as I'm parked 99% of the time outside my apartment that has normal windows on the building. If Toyota is right, then I've parked by a building somewhere recently that has these reflective windows, but I can't think of where that could be based on where I go and park.
One service manager told me this issue is becoming more common due to buildings being built with reflective glass. If I want it repaired, I was told I would have to replace the entire unit. Repair estimate is $747 including labor and tax. At that price, I guess I'll just hold out in hopes it doesn't get worse as I don't know of anything I can do myself to fix it. I'd attach a pic to better show/explain what I'm talking about, but I can't see an option to do that.
That is some weapon's grade bolognium they're feeding you.
They're using cheap inferior plastic.
I would take a heat gun and a thermometer and see exactly at what temperature these suckers start to melt.
but I can't see an option to do that.

I found my answer in the FAQ and sent a pic to Scotty. Thank you for your time and help!
Thanks for the link on how to upload a pic. If I did it correctly, it should be here: https://imgur.com/a/1zoPyey
I've seen Scotty's video on the melting mirrors on the Toyota Camry, which he says happened about a year and half after he bought the car. My car is only two months old and I'm having this problem. In Scotty's video he asked for folks to send him pics if having the same problem, but I can't find a way to do that and be sure he gets it.
