[Solved] Spark plug changes

Changing the spark plugs in a 2011 Tacoma Prerunner, 112k miles, tbh I’m not sure if they have ever been changed. I’m seeing lots of buzz about ruthenium spark plugs being better than iridium ones, anyone know if this is true? It’s only $2 more per plug online so I wouldn’t mind getting them. Or is there a downside to getting any spark plug that’s not OEM? I’m looking for quality and don’t mind spending a little more as long as it’s not damaging to my truck. Thanks!

Highly suggest sticking the OE spec plugs.

You don't need Ruthenium plugs. They are just the new fad.

OEM plugs or NGK platinum plugs will get the job done just fine. Or you can get fancy and use their Iridium offerings.

Whatever oem plug is what the truck is built to run with I would recommend sticking to that

See below:  Iridium plugs already last a while and are true and tried - no point going to ruthenium.  Also, stick with OEM to mitigate issues.
