Hey Scotty, I’ve got an ‘07 GMC Sierra 1500 classic single cab WT. It has the 6 cylinder engine, and a manual transmission. The truck has 236,000 miles on it, and holding. My speedometer and odometer have recently stopped working. Using a scan tool, I determined that the speed sensor appears to be working correctly. Since they stopped working, the “Change Oil Soon” came up in the message center at an appropriate interval, so it’s counting miles somewhere at least. I swapped out stepper motors with the tachometer. Tachometer still worked, odometer still didn’t. Any suggestions? I have read that replacing a MOSFET on the speedometer head circuit board can fix many problems. What do you think?
Kind thanks!
well if a scantil shows it's got the actual speed then the dash unit is broken me I'd go to a junkyard by used dash you can generally get them cheap enough
