Hello Scotty, hello guys, i own a 2014 camaro v6 116 000 km automatic transmision. The problem i have is that the whole radio unit including the ac buttons is turning on/off random. 😖 😖 The other lights , electrical stuff doesn’t have any problems🤔. Do you have any idea how can i fix it or what could be the problem ? Thank you 🙁
Hello , if it isn't blowing a fuse - I would suspect a loose ground in that system . When it happens , does the radio and air come back on its own ?
Yes they come back by their own after a few seconds , sometimes it does it continuous , sometimes just a few times
Definitely sounds like a ground problem , or even a loose connection in behind the head unit / temp control panel . If you are not sure how to remove those items , there are plenty how too videos .
Thank you, i will try remove the unit and have a look whats going on there in the next days, hopefully is just a loose connection 🙏🏻
Btw I saw a lot of videos on youtube about people having this kind of problem and they just cut the white wire behind the unit, for some it worked for some it didn’t, what do u think about that?
I did some reading on this problem , seems there could be a bad circuit in the BCM ( body control module ) .The symptoms are pretty close to the problems you are having , and if you are handy , a way to fix it . Here is a link to the topic , I hope this can help. https://ls1tech.com/forums/wiring-stereo-electronics/969723-how-fix-your-radio-door-locks-windows-etc-flickering.html
Thank you for the help man, this is very helpful, really appreciate it, i will look more into this or i will find a good electrician who can do this for me, thank you so much for the effort 🙏🏻
You are welcome .
Sounds like it has an electrical short going to it.
I would check the fuse just to make sure it is seated properly and there are no issues there, but more than likely you'll have to pull the head unit out and chase down the short.
Thank you for reply, I will try to look at the fuse but tbh i try to avoid the electrical parts cuz if its not done properly , it can go bad. I asked some auto electricians they said that this problem i can only check it in company service lol, others said to change the whole radio unit...they were not a great help...
