stored dash cam video from all those built-in cameras?

I'm in the market for a new car, and many models have mulitple cameras looking at everything from behind the car to all around it, to the road signs on the road ahead.  Has any manufacturer come up with the ability to store and retrieve these images in case of an accident (like an aftermarket dashcam can)?   Seems crazy that a new car with lots of cameras needs me to buy yet another device that contains cameras.  Is this a liability thing? (I know that if you have a dashcam, and you get in a wreck, the images can be used against you in a court of law). Maybe the car company lawyers have put the brakes on this kind of feature.  Really want to hear your opinions...

Cadillac has an option to record video. Not sure of the price tag.

On a side note, Tesla is recalling 300,000 vehicles because the rear camera cable fails if someone opens the trunk too often.

Well heck you get aftermarket cams to do that all the time. I suppose it would be kind of a liability if the manufacturers made them and then they didn't work when you were in a wreck
