I have a 2010 Subaru Impreza with 90k miles (non-cvt transmission) that I just drained and filled the tranny. I drained out 4 quarts and then added back 4 quarts and let it run a few moments before checking the tranny fluid levels and it says I’m overfilled above the hot line about an inch. Should I be worried?

Assuming you followed the proper procedure for checking fluid level, remove enough so it's at the full mark.

It's a good idea to follow a service manual for this kind of stuff.
You need to move your shift lever through each position, pausing at each one. There is a vast labyrinth of hydraulic fluid passages, accumulators, valves, pumps, coolers, and lubrication channels that need to refill and work the air bubbles out.
