2011 Subaru Tribeca H6 engine oil leak

Hi everyone,

I was looking for an oil leak on my 2011 Subaru Tribeca with 110k miles and I think I have found it with glowing dye, blended in the engine oil. I thought it would be super bright with UV light, but after the dye mixes itself out with the engine oil, it is not as bright as I thought it would be.

Anyways, even with the dye it was hard to find the leak, because it is not at the bottom of the engine, it's kinda hidden on the top of the engine, right below the intake manifold, behind the alternator, power steering pump and air conditioning compressor. I can't pinpoint exactly where is the leak, because there is a lot of stuff blocking my view, maybe the timing chain cover?

Since it is on the top of the engine, where is very hot, I thing that the oil is being burned, even though I don't feel any burning smell. I believe that to find out I would have to at least remove the intake manifold and I don't want to mess with it. It is leaking half a quart of oil every 1000k miles.

Does it worth to try any engine sealer?

Thank you.

No sealer is going to stop a gasket from leaking. Those kind of products, such as ATP AT-205 that Scotty has talked about, attempt to rejuvenate rubber seals.
