Hello!
Context:
My car's a 2016 subaru legacy premium model at around 98600 miles, automatic-
I recently got my car aligned and all the tires replaced/balanced (November '21 both) and used a fuel injector cleaner (techron) twice - once in november once in december '21. Around July '21 I had all the spark plugs replaced. The battery is new, oil's still fine, both air filters clean.
Other than some bumpy roads I haven't felt anything throw off the alignment since Nov.'s alignment, I've been riding the brake lately, could be impactful?
Problem:
The gas pedal won't accelerate from 0-25 nearly as fast as it did a year and a half ago when I bought it and pushes 3 RPM getting from 20-30 or 40, (it used to push barely under 2.5 RPM less than 6 months ago).
I don't know if any of this is super concerning, but it's been bothering me and I wanted to know what I can do before taking my car into a mechanic or dealership again so soon.
I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions!
May I live with it those transmissions are relatively weak and it will often do that when they start to wear. But you could also do my video make your car run better with a little spray cleaner
The obvious things would be: air filter, fuel filter (if accessible, otherwise check fuel pressure with a gauge), clean the throttle body, MAF and MAP, check intake temp sensor readings, also if prices are with in reason, replace your PCV valve.
Go through your live data and see if there's anything that looks bad, like fuel trims or ratios, oxygen sensors voltages not being within range, ...
And replace the fluid inside of that CVT - all CVTs don't hold up as well as automatics and quite often. If the fluid replacement changes anything, I'd just dump the car immediately - it's done.
Subaru transmission slip looks like this:
