Hi Scotty/Community,
I own a Mitsubishi Eclipse 2003 spyder, I had some issues with it but I have been fixing it lately to prevent any massive work later. A few months ago, I notice my engine light has been going on and off for a code of the system to lean bank 2. Observing the car a bit I notice a suction noise coming from the right side of the engine ( looking from the driver seat) which in I am able to feel the flow of air every time I put my finger on it. The "hole" appears to be in a kind of arm connect to the engine with opens and closes ( there is a metallic stick that pulls an ellipse with rectangle shape looking piece followed by an orange color cylinder piece, and another piece touching the engine with a black ellipse rectangular shape piece also). the metallic piece pulls that shaped oval piece that looks like it does something with the regulation of air ( i am not sure). but the thing is that the orange cylinder piece looks to have the hole on it that produces the suction noise.
I have the engine light on now showing a P0401 code exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected, so I am not sure what to do, should I take a look at the EGR and replace it? what do you think about the suction noise?
- Thanks
Go look at the EGR but take a picture or make even better make a YouTube video where you point at the part and show it sucking and I can analyze it better you can post a YouTube url here and I can watch it
