Hello Scotty 09/28/21
We have a 1996 Ford Taurus GL 3.0L engine mileage 92,424 (own the car).
This one I have been chasing for about 15 years or more and still having an issue with stalling out, summer time only or when it’s hot, but all you have to do is put the transmission in neutral, when the car is moving and it will start.
I have check, egr, fuel psi, even back in 2010 we had our transmission rebuilt and I ask them to replace trans. Solenoids, and I replace the IAC. Plugs and wires.
This what’s going on; in the summer time only (not winter) the engine starts bucking on us, like you forget to apply your foot to the clutch pedal, all I do is put the shift lever in neutral and it start to clear up, then put the lever back in gear, no problem.
Then at times, only in the summer time, you are driving along the road and when you lift up your foot from the accelerator pedal, the engine stall out, not all the time, only when the engine at a certain time in the temp range? ‘You will notice the steering is hard to turn’ then you put the shift lever in neutral crank the engine over and it will start, then you can put the lever back in drive and it act like it never stall out and it will drive?
I thought of driving the car only in the wintertime, but, if someone needs to use the car I would not have to worry if the engine stalls out on them? Joke!
This is one of those vehicles that you wish it would just die out, and then possible you are able to repair it? It won’t die out!
Still today it will stall out, only in the summer not winter?
Now we have a strong fuel smell near the gas tank area, notice no leak, canister smell, I have not check that yet?
I just wonder if you had experience with this kind of issue as a mechanic in your line of work.
Thanks
Peace be with you

Any codes now or before the issue?
Check the fuel filters, fuel pump and vapor lock.
