Suzuki Grand Vitara vs Highlander

Similar years and mileage, but the Suzuki is less than half the price... would you still pay $12,000 for a 2008 highlander with 160,000 miles? (Vs 2007 Suzuki 140,000 miles for $5k) I've read mixed reviews about Suzuki,  mostly good though especially in reliability, nothing bad is ever said about the highlander except that you can't find a good deal on it (because they hold their value so well - nice for the seller but not for the buyer!)

Honestly not sure if I'd get any car with such high mileage.... but if I can get it cheap and still get some reliable mileage out of it I might

Run away from the Suzuki. The parts are so hard to find in the US. The Suzukis are known for motorcycles. You could ask the owner to lower the price for the Highlander if you want. But it's actually a good deal. The Highlanders last very long than the Suzuki. Check the titles and check with the mechanic.

This is not even a fair comparison. The Highlander is in a different class, of both size & quality.

The GV has reached (or very close) its end of useful life, meanwhile, the Highlander can run past 400,000 miles with minimal maintenance.

Save yourself the trouble with the GV & bargain harder for the Highlander.

As with any used car, have it inspected throughly by a good mechanic, before you buy it.

The Suzuki is nothing compared to the Highlander but the Highlander is also way overpriced.

Highlander all the way, but that price is too high.
