Hey hey I got a 2001 Chevrolet Impala with a 147,000 miles with an auto. About to put resistors in for led tail lights. 3 wires going into socket: A is yellow, B is black, G is black, in that order. Resistors need to be connected to ground and the turn signal wires, is it fair to assume G is ground? Maybe the turn signal is B? Any ideas? Thank you
Correction, wire B is brown, not black.
Black is the industry standard for the ground wire. Are you sure "Resistors need to be connected to ground and the turn signal wires" And? The turn signal wires positive wire and the ground are on the same circuit, so it would have 2 resistors and the running lights would have 1 resistor in the circuit.
Get an inexpensive test light. Pull the bulb out of the socket. Turn on the headlights. You'll have power in the terminal of that socket that feeds the tail light.
Turn off the headlights and have someone step on the brake pedal. You'll have power in the terminal of that socket that feeds the brake lights/turn signals.
Green and Brown will be for one of each of those. The test light will help you figure it out.
Black is Ground.
