Hi 2018 subaru impreza sport, manual, 65,000 miles. Hi a little backroung. I'm 33 been driving manual my whole life. No body thought me. I took auto 1 year of auto shop at my high-school and was into cars most of my life. So when I bought my first cat that was manual I was able to drive it no issues. That being said my girl is looking to get her license and I need to teach her how to drive stick.

1st question: does it hurt anything to have her practice shifting with the car off.

2nd question: do you have any tips, tricks or advice/exercises to help teach her.

Thanks you

Practice shifting with the car off isn't going to teach her anything.  You just have to go out and develop the muscle memory for the coordination of the clutch, throttle and shift.

Just let her do it. She'll learn from her mistakes and pick it up quickly.  Just give her some basic instruction sitting in the car with her and let her go
