Scotty,
I have a 2022 Kia Telluride with 43k miles. The SRS light came on. The dealer scanned it and found code B132600 where the front impact sensors is not detected. Turns out the worse are broken or "chewed" according to the dealer. They quoted $5500 to replace the entire SRS harness. Is this remedy common in the industry with other makes? What if I repair, splice the two wires and get the sensor to work without codes? What are the issues with that? I appreciate your recommendations!
Thanks,
Scott
A lot of cars these days use soy-based insulation on the wiring which rodents love to chew on. All most dealers will want to do when wires are damaged is replace the wiring harness. You could try splicing the wires if the damaged parts are accessible but it has to be done right.
