For S's and G's I pulled out the manual on our 2011 Rav4 to read the oil consumption page. New...Toyota found that both city driving (frequent acceleration and deceleration) and highway driving (high speeds) will increase oil burn...
And? The acceptable rate of burn before you should see the dealer? 1.1 quarts per 600 miles.

To avoid that situation, change the oil and filter every 5k miles or once a year.
Heck we never went more than 4k and at 116k on the clock and now checking the oil? We def in that situation. Roughly 1 quart every 800...
