You can find v8 Trans Ams under a 100k miles for around $10,000 to $15,000 dollars and a v6 for around $5000. Are these good cars to purchase?

Well anything V8 is probably ragged out and rode hard. That’s way to much money for a 92-02. I wouldn’t buy any V6 model. No value there. At least if you go older with a V8, maybe Fisher II body the prices will eventually climb on em. I’ve seen 77-78 trans ams in decent shape for 15k. Definitely wouldn’t consider one for a daily driver. If you are looking for a weekend toy to wrench on that’s fine. But like I said most will be rode hard.

If you know the in's and out's of the F-Body cars and can live with the downsides, they can be a good deal.

Of course most V8 models are rode hard but you have to expect that. You can get a good Z28 Camaro with the LS1 and 100k miles for $8000 or so. Six speeds sometimes a little more. The Trans Ams though, especially WS6 models, have gone up in price. I'm seeing those sell with 100k miles for $12k regularly.
