I pretty much know the general consensus is that anything Hyundai is crap but I see way too many Hyundai and Genesis owners saying they love their cars and haven't had any problems. How is the dependability of the newer models? I've heard Hyundai is getting better and better and that most of their big issues are in the past models built in the US.
The people who love those things are probably leasing them and don't experience the longer-term falling apart.
Just don't.
owners saying they love their cars
imagine you just dropped $60k on a car. Are you going to start telling people what a bad decision you made?
You can always try it out and let us know if it works out. That’s the only way to really know if it is reliable or not.
The other way is to ask honest mechanics. Never have I ever heard a mechanic recommend a Genesis, Hyundai, or Kia. They usually recommend Toyota/Lexus or Honda/Toyota for almost any class of cars.
You know psychologically speaking people don't like admitting to their mistakes; they know they've made a mistake in their mind because one can't lie to themselves, but they won't admit it in front of people. This is exactly the case with Hyundai/Kia owners in my opinion. Why not take the word of a trusted mechanic like Scotty and just go for some reliable brand?
