Scotty,
In the next few years my tires are going to be due for replacement. I've tried new tires over the years for all my cars (some I liked and some I disliked). I am interested in trying the Italian Pirelli brand tires for my 2007 Pontiac G6, a reliable car for me. However, Perilli tires are a little more expensive than most standard tires. Would you recommend Perilli brand tires in respect to car performance and tire life? Thank you!
Mike
On this forum, @mod_man swears by them.
Indeed!
Pirelli makes an EXCELLENT tire. However, @InThrustWeTrust is correct: it is a track-oriented tire. What you will find with Pirelli's are excellent grip and smooth handling.
However, they are a softer compound tire. Michelin makes a good tire that is focused on longevity and safety. You really can't have everything in a tire.
That said, my wife's 2015 Camry has Pirellis on it and she swears it drives way better than what it came with. And it is a daily driver. I also have Pirellis on all of my sports cars and they do great, but they are equipped with some of the sportier offerings (Zero Nero's, etc.) than the Cinturato style that is on the Camry.
So it is really what you want out of the tire that counts.
Great to know! Thanks!
You can’t really have both. Either you want great performance, or want long tyre life.
I know Pirelli tyres have great performance on the track.
If you want really long tyre life, go Michelin.
Thanks!
