Hey! I have a 2003 Yukon XL. 211k miles on it. I bought this truck back in August and didn’t have any issues until about a month and a half later. When I’m going down the road my truck kinda kicks back and Reduced Engine Power pops up on the little screen that shows my mileage. It won’t go over 35, the gas pedal doesn’t work, and it idles high and shakes when it does that. I have to pull over and turn it off for a couple seconds and then the code goes away and it runs normally until it does it again. I’ve tested this for months now trying to find what’s causing it. Doesn’t matter if I’m going fast or slow, in town or on the highway, I feel like it’s totally random. The only thing I’ve found that helps the situation is letting it run for Atleast ten minutes before I take off in it. Idk if that helps you or not. Everything I’ve read says the throttle body position sensor needs replaced but the one I found was like $500 and I don’t want to spend that much money on a part if there’s anything else I could do. Sorry this is so long but it’s weird and I felt like I needed to say exactly what’s happening. Any and all help and suggestions are so appreciated. Thank you!
You need to have someone hook up a quality scan tool while its running and exhibiting this behavior - there should be clear data while it is happening real time as well as any codes that are saved. Without that info, you might be shooting in the dark on what to focus on.
Agree, but buy a scan tool to have, it will pay dividends.
