scotty i have a 2006 toyota corolla ce base model and my owners manual says 30 psi cold for front and back tires what would you recommend for tire pressure some people say 32 or 33 but if the tires are warm what would you reccomend let me no thanks eric
Use whatever it says on your door sticker (I'm sure it'll be close to the pressure you got from the manual), and it's not an exact science. You can't notice a difference of 3 PSI.
Always check the pressure cold. Warm pressure is irrelevant.
Starting with cold tire pressure gives room for the pressure to go up as you drive. Go by the tag on the inside of your door.
the reason iam confused about psi for my 2006 toyota corolla ce what if its 30 degrees out or 75 degrees out and the tires are considered cold so you still put them at 30 psi at 30 degrees or 75 degrees ok thanks
It doesn't matter. it's 30 psi, when you start off in the morning it's considered "cold tire pressure" regardless of the season. Tire pressure changes with the seasons that's why you start out at 30 psi when it's winter time and at you get into warmer weather the pressure WILL increase. So as the seasons change, you adjust the pressure up or down as necessary to get your starting pressure at 30psi. My car it's 32psi. I've had to take air as the temps have risen to keep starting pressure 32.
always go by the tag on the door, you dont want to over inflate your tires as it gives it a chance to explode while you're driving, and if it happens at a high speed, you're going to have a bad day real quick. 30psi cold means when its been sitting for awhile you make sure its 30psi, dont go and assume 2-3 after being driven, because you might not get a accurate result.
