Hi Scotty, Thanks for all the good work! Immigrant to Canada, and bought a new Honda Civic sedan 2020. What tools do I need buy to swap my winter tires into all season? Breaker bar, 4way lug wrench or Impact wrench for loosening? breaker bar and then torque wrench for tightening? I'm new to this and would love to learn from you!
If you're going to do car stuff and want to do things the easy and safe way, get a floor jack (like Scotty uses) a basic socket set and a torque wrench (so you don't over or under-tighten the lugs).. I'd also get a couple jack stands for doing other stuff and a 12 volt air compressor and digital tire qauge.
Do you need to change the wheels+tires, or just the tires?
Cars used to come with everything you needed to change a wheel+tire. A jack and lug nut wrench. From your question, it sounds like Honda is no longer doing that? if so then that's what you need. Honestly, for the price of those tools it might just be cheaper to have it done at a tire shop.
Hi MountainManJoe, Thanks for the reply. I have the tools in the trunk along with the spare tire (it came with the car), So Honda still provides them. I am guessing having the other tools just makes it quicker for you to replace the wheels. If all can be achieved by tools from car manufacturer, I am not sure why the tools I mentioned in the OP exists!! I have both my winter tires and all season tires on their own steel rims, so basically I just need to swap them.

The same reason espresso machines exist even though you can make a cup of coffee with a spoon-full of instant powder.
