I have a 2012 Tacoma 2WD base model 2.7L with 130,000 miles. Should I drain and refill the transmission fluid? It’s never been changed before (I’m the original owner). On the side of the dipstick it says “there’s no need to change the lifetime fluid”.

Yes you should change it now. There has been alot of discussion on this topic. I would also save the old fluid to be on the safe side.

Toyota lies. Change it and the filter now and every 50,000 miles.

No such thing as lifetime trans fluid. Scotty's cover it numerous times in videos. You want your Taco to last, do a drain and fill. Don't forget the rear differential as well.
