It was always said to unhook battery if electric welding to your vehicle. Now these days if one does so they may need to have their vehicle reprogrammed because of data loss. If you use a 12 volt memory keeper hooked up to OBDI port will you still end up with a surge problem when welding.

Well if you do electric welding you have to disconnect the battery you don't want power going to any of those devices you can run the computer sensors all kinds of things oh that's just the hassle I use an electric welding on a car maybe you think you could learn use oxygen acetylene welding and you don't have to worry about any of that

I would rather blow up a little memory saver, than my big expensive car battery.
