2007 Toyota Tundra, 296,000 miles, RWD 5.7L with 6 speed automatic. I occasionally feel what I think is torque converter shudder at lower speed when I lift off the accelerator when the transmission is about to shift from 4th into 5th. There are no codes or check engine light. The dealer has performed drain & fill ATF service, and the truck runs & drives perfectly well except for this one randomly occurring issue. NOTE: I currently drive around town in S-4, this keeps the transmission from shifting into overdrive and prevents the shudder from occurring.
What can I do to positively identify the problem?
if you can find one you will need to find a top notch Toyota transmission mechanic with a dealer level scan tool to road test it and analyze all the data he could tell
Thank you, Scotty.
The dealer reset the shift memory for the transmission, and all is well.
