Hello again Scotty and company... I'll be looking at mid 2000's Toyota Camry/Corolla cars to purchase soon.
Are the diagnostic systems in these years of Toyotas advanced to the point where I will get good use from an Autel MD806 Scanner for initial purchase inspection and the maintenance work sure to follow? Also considering the BlueDriver but the amzn reviews aren't all that great. Seem like apples to oranges, but IDK.
Thanks for your help! Dan
the maintenance work sure to follow?
It depends how deep (realistically) you are going to get into car repair.
If you're an oil change and brake pads kinds guy, you're better off with the Bluedriver.
If you're going to be diagnosing complex problems, analyzing graphs and doing advanced repairs then sure get the Autel.
The Bluedriver is good enough for 90% of people. It will read your trouble codes and provide basic engine data.
See our FAQ for a more in-depth look at scan tools.
Thank you Joe, all of the information I needed was in the FAQ section.
