Dear Scotty (and everybody else)

Im looking for a good Toyota here in Danmark and i have desided to look for a Toyota Avensis, 1.8 VVT-i stc. Manual.

I just came across this one with automatic gear and im trying to figure out if i should stay away.

Specifik model: Toyota Avensis, 1,8 VVT-i T3 stc. E-CVT, Petrol, aut. 2009, km 284000 (= miles: 176.469)

After a couple of days of reading (and trying to understand about the gearbox my head is spinning 🙂

I would highly apreciate any advise about this model

Best regards Michael

How are you say it's a manual transmission but then you say e CBT and that's a CVT transmission which is not a matic so I'm confused I would buy the manual but not a CVT transmission one

Too much mileage, too old for a hybrid (e-CVT is only for hybrids) - you just never know how much life it has left in it.

just get a petrol 1.6L ZR-series engine Corolla (not MMT, only Conventional auto or manual) - those are extremely well built.

E-CVT is basically very similar to what an electric bike has. The only difference is that instead of the chain (on a CVT it’s a belt) going from one cog to another - the cog (it’s actually a pair of cones) it self changes size - same principal different design. E-CVTs also have an electric motor-generator built into them.
