Topic starter

2014 Camry w/ 135k miles

Coolant has never been changed

Not showing issues....but it’s time IMO

Would you change the hoses and the thermostat when you do the coolant ?

- no apparent wear showing

I would go back with the OEM Asian Stat. but Gates hoses ....

BTW- would you reuse the clamps?

Dont know where you live but here in New England I usually replace hoses/TSTAT by 10 years and thats with changing the antifreeze as recommended. You are doing great insurance for any long hot trips you may take by replacing all you mentioned.

If they're in good shape you don't need to, but they're easy enough that you might as well for preventative maintenance.

Especially if you plan on keeping the car for a long time. Again, the clamps are cheap, might as well replace them.

If they work, I reuse them.

Over 40 years of owning Toyotas, most to 200K miles or more, I have never had a problem or replaced any hoses. Maybe I'm lucky, maybe they use really good hose materials.
