Toyota Camry power steering issues

I daily drive a 1997 Toyota Camry LE with 250,000 miles. Every so often the power steering goes out on turns. After the turn is over it goes back to normal. There are no noises when i turn unless it is all the way to the left or right (i think it's hitting the sidewalls but i'm not completely sure). Is this a pump failure or something else? I'm pretty sure it's the original pump. I know these pumps sometimes leak but i've been really busy with other car projects and i haven't looked at it much. Thanks!

You can check pump output with a pressure gauge. How long has it been since power steering fluid was changed?
