Is it worth it to buy a 2003 Celica GT for $4300 with 53 000 miles on it. If yes what should I look for befoe I buy it

No, the yamaha design engines were outright junk that is why they are so cheap, and that one is overpriced.

Unless the Previous owner has already doing both Oil Pump & Oil Pan Upgrades on those thing
If it's not, RUN AWAY
For that kind of price, PAY EVEN LESSER THAN THAT
I would pay less than 2k, if I want to buy those stupid thing

Go to https://www.carcomplaints.com/ to get info on problem areas, recalls, TSBs and such for various years.
I'd consider the Scion TC as an alternative (or a Miata, MR2 or such).
