Toyota Corona 3SFE Engine Block blew a hole in the Phillipines

Hey uncle Scotty!

One of our Toyota Corona Club member here in the Philippines, had his engine block blown open a hole. The lower engine area. He didn't overheat his car or over revved it.

What can be done here? He has a 3SFE engine. Should he get it rebuilt and all the gaskets and belts replaced for almost $500. Or get a surplus engine for $200 up to $500.

And what is the cause of our engine block blowing a hole? Some say it might be because of poor oil quality? What's your opinion uncle Scotty?

Thank you so much!

Put another donor engine in from a junkyard.

Who knows why it blew up without looking at it. Did the owner drive through deep water in the recent past?

How much is another fully functioning Corona worth, in the Philippines?

Not sure if he drove through deep water.

Mostly later models that are good running condition are $1,500 above. And well kept and well maintained are $4,000+

Thanks!
