Hello Scotty, I bought a 2012 Toyota Highlander Limited AWD with102K miles about a month ago and recently noticed a noise coming from the steering column when I turn right at low speeds. From my research it seems like it is the common Highlander issue with the intermediate steering shaft. My question is, how dangerous is this to hold off on repairing? If I try to wait for a recall would it put me at unnecessary risk? Also, do you think a recall is likely? I don't like the sound but can put up with it for a while if it isn't a safety risk. Thank you sir!

recalls are usually retro-active. Meaning, if you repaired the problems yourself they compensate you.
Deal with the problem, it's your steering.
