Scotty,
I see the Advics name on the Toyota OEM brakes, I've learned they're an Aisin company. I liked the Akebonos on my crappy 2011 Outback. Could you give me your opinion of the two and, since my two 4th Generation Rav4s have a reputation of going through brakes quickly, which ones would probably last longer and which ones hold up better in emergencies. I want my daughters to have the safest and most pleasant driving experiences.
Thanks!
To clarify: Pleasant driving experiences means quiet braking and less pad replacements.
I would go with the Akebono pads on OEM rotors. Very solid setup.
Ahmed has taught me SOOOOO much (like the "AZ" and "YZ" codes in part numbers.
He has personally responded to a ton of my questions by e-mail. If there's someone I give money to via Patreon or PayPal, it's him.
His tips on wiper blades on my Prius saved me $45!!! Scotty taught how to care for them and encourages silicone. Since I haven't found silicone refills that work with my Prius, Toyota refills are a must-have thing. The Prius wiper blades are proprietary and I have not seen any after-market frames with the push-button connection system...
