Hi, I just got an 85 Toyota pickup with a 22r started up after 4 years of sitting (replaced the fuel pump and filter). I was wondering why, after starting it a few times already, it takes a couple of times to start. Also, when I rev it a little and the revs drop down to idle, it sputters out and dies. Wondering what could be the problem. (Also, when I drove it a little, it sputters out when I changed gears, and I had to keep the revs real high) Thank you so much!

Pressure test the fuel line.

You need to rebuild the carb or fuel injection system. Which does it have?
