Hey scotty,
I just purchased a new tacoma trd.first new vehicle but whole family drives toyota and know them pretty well. These recent 3.5 engines and trannys in these third gen tacomas, how well do you think they will hold up? My brothers 1st gen taco lasted forever. Ive seen with other manufatrures try new motors on new models and end up being garbage.(chrysler, ford, dodge etc.)
Well I don't see any real problems with him yet I'm assuming they'll keep up Toyota quality even though they're making them all now in Mexico
The current generation of the Tacoma’s have been out now since MY 2016 so we are 5 years in and usually Toyota works out the kinks by now. Just stay on top of your maintenance (esp. engine oil and transmission fluid changes) and it should last a while.
Chrysler Ford trucks can't compare to the Tacomas. Now when first introduced even Toyota had problems in fact consumer reports said the Tacoma in 2016 had bad outdated quality but its up to you whether to believe that but Toyota knows how to get things together after a couple years and its been 5 years so I wouldn't hesitate its definately the better of trucks.
